This desk is just wonderful! Assembly is a bit time consuming, but easily accomplished with nothing more than a couple of screwdrivers and a mallet. Assembled, this desk has TONS of storage, and an ingenious design that lets you see all the goodies you have tucked away in the drawers--the desktop is clear for an easy view! For me, that is essential, as I am a very visual crafter,and like to see as many of my supplies as I can while I am working on a project. The two base pieces can be interchanged--one has space for storage on the outside and one has shelves for 12x12 paper inside. You can arrange it so the open side is either on the left or the right. Both sides have doors with velcro supply pockets inside, easy to pull out for use or to take with you for crops or crafting on the road. It was delivered by a freight company--be aware it weighs 240 pounds for shipping!
This piece is the cornerstone of my new craft room, and it is PERFECT for my needs! If you need lots of space and storage, this is the desk for you!

I'm giving the unit 3 stars for now since I haven't seen one and don't own one. I will change the rating once I conclude my investigation on this. However, for 600 bucks I'm curious as to why it comes with an acrylic "glass like" top? Acrylic is a highly scratchable material. Hardly appropriate for an arts and crafts table top it would seem.
I'd like to hear opinions about this before making this purchase for my wife. A true glass top could always be made locally but then adds even more to the price. This just doesn't make sense to me. Did the manufacturer cut a serious corner in cost here or am I missing something? Please voice your experience or input in my comment link. This may be helpful for others who also have this concern.
